A brief history:
Ironman Lanzarote also known as Ironman Lanzarote Canarias, is an annual Ironman triathlon event (3.86 km swim, 180.2 km bike and 42.195 km run), which is contested in Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote, Spain.
History:
The race was created in 1992 by Club La Santa in the municipality of Tinajo, Lanzarote. 148 athletes participated in this edition, of which 116 finished the race.
In 1993, the race was moved to Puerto del Carmen, where it is currently held.
The race is held at the end of May and is a good physical preparation for Hawaii, since for many triathletes, it is one of the toughest races in the world.
